Quiero Entender provides for much-needed Spanish-language outreach and services to low income, non-English-speaking Latino women in need of maternal health care at the Easy Access Clinic in Winter Garden, FL. This program will address the significant communication shortfall experienced by non-English speaking Latino women for whom this Clinic represents their only option for accessible maternal health care. With communication identified as one of the top two barriers to good-quality healthcare for pregnant women, newborns, and children, our Project seeks to meet these vulnerable women not only where they are but in their native language. With the vision to serve all women and to turn no one away, the Easy Access Clinic seeks to fill the communication void experienced by Latinos in attendance at our Clinic and in so doing, increase their health equity.
