Applicant Organization: Midwives Alliance of North America, Division of Access and Equity
The MANA Division of Research hosts the largest database in the country that collects prospective data on out of hospital birth, through which transformative research is happening. We are aware that our system is not representative of some of the most vulnerable communities of midwives, particularly women of color and LGBT communities. We will be expanding our reach in these communities to increase access and reduce these disparities in order that the midwives and ultimately the families impacted will be included in the bigger picture of current midwifery research.
